The Chat-R-Box Pro is designed to work on all brand of lawn valves and has been enhanced to work for effectively on Rainbird brand of valves.

How It Works:

1. Transmitter and Receiver Setup:

  • The F02/NF816 package includes one transmitter and one receiver.
  • The transmitter emits two distinct signals: one through the common wire and the other through the valve wire of your irrigation system.

2. Signal Detection:

  • The receiver uses a unique NULL signal tracing method for easy detection of wires and valves.
  • When positioned directly above the common and valve wires, you will hear minimal to no signal, indicating the NULL point.
  • To detect the signal, move the receiver’s antenna perpendicular to the wires, a few inches away from the NULL point.
  • Slowly trace along the wire path, maintaining a consistent 6-8 inch distance perpendicular to the wires.
  • Pay attention to the NULL location where the signal fades completely—this is the sweet spot for precise wire identification.
  • Follow the NULL point between the two loudest signal points, adjusting the receiver as needed to keep the signal clear.

3. Valve Detection:

  • As you move over a solenoid or valve, the NULL signal weakens and is replaced by a louder, continuous signal.
  • This indicates that a valve is located within a 6” radius from the detection point.
  • Using a long screw driver to tape the ground to locate the green valve cap.

Usage Tips:

  • Ensure the transmitter is properly connected to the wires of the irrigation system before use.
  • Maintain a steady pace while tracing the wires to ensure precise signal detection.
  • Adjust the receiver's antenna sensitivity to optimize the signal.
  • Mark the wire path and valve locations for easy reference and future maintenance.
  • Caution:
  • Be mindful when working with buried wires to prevent damage to the system.
  • Avoid using the wire locator near high-voltage electrical lines or equipment to prevent interference or injury.

Key Benefits:

  • Efficiency: Quickly locates buried wires and valves, reducing troubleshooting time.
  • Versatility: Ideal for both wire breaks and valve detection, whether the valves are operational or not.
  • User-Friendly: The unique NULL signal detection method makes it easy to trace and pinpoint difficult-to-find wiring issues.
  • Cost-Effective: A must-have tool for maintaining irrigation systems, perfect for DIYers and professionals.
  • With the F02/NF816 Wire Locator, locating hard-to-find wires, identifying wire breaks, and detecting buried valves has never been easier. Save time, reduce frustration, and ensure the long-term functionality of your irrigation system
